Working with experienced colleagues at various Thiess projects, our four-year structured Apprenticeship Program will offer you the chance to participate in training towards a nationally recognised trade qualification.

You will need to be self-motivated, conscientious and committed to developing a career for yourself in the resources industry. A mature attitude is essential and you must be willing to learn new skills and accept direction.

Thiess Apprentices have all of their college fees and associated costs covered by Thiess and are supplied with full PPE and a uniform.

Please note, at this time, we are only looking for candidates who are not already completing an apprenticeship.

To be eligible to apply:

You need to have completed year 12 as of 1st August 2018, with passes in English and Mathematics (this is not a requirement for mature age (over 21) applicants)
You have a current driver's licence (a provisional licence is accepted)
QLD applicants - Be able to relocate to the mine site area if not currently living locally (or self funded FIFO)
WA applicants – Fly in Fly out from Perth
Be willing to relocate to another Thiess site if requirements at current site change. Please note, this move may be interstate.
Shortlisted applicants will progress through a structured recruitment process which can involve (but not limited to) participation in an assessment centre, formal interview, medical examination including drug and alcohol testing and reference checking.

Please note, if successful you will be required to complete 16 weeks full time training in Brisbane prior to starting on the project you are recruited for. Accommodation in the Brisbane area for the duration of the course will be at your own cost.

The Thiess Apprenticeship Program will start in August 2018.
