AEA Priority Manager – QLD Australia’s Economic Accelerator, Department of Education, Australian Government, Research Division

Mario Martini is a passionate innovator and commercialisation practitioner.
A former Chemical Formulator with commercial successes in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals,
agriculture, domestic and heavy industry; where he also held senior technical, R&D,
operational and strategic leadership roles.
Since moving to North Queensland almost two decades ago, he has worked alongside industry
and researchers, as a Manufacturing Specialist with the Qld Manufacturing institute,
Innovation Connections Facilitator with the Department of Industry, and currently Priority
Manager delivering the Department of Education’s $1.6b Australia’s Economic Accelerator
program. The last two as a CSIRO SME Connect team member.
Facilitating over 80 Industry and research collaboration projects, across multiple disciplines,
has been an enlightening journey, for all participants. To be a part of this journey with
researchers and industry, and witnessing their new technology breakthroughs and
commercialisation successes, continues to be a privilege
