Linda joined BHP in 2019 after spending the previous 16 years in the mining industry in various production and consulting roles.
She holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Mining Engineering and a number of other qualifications.
Linda has a diverse background in chemistry, processing and mining engineering and has worked in most aspects of the mining supply chain from Production (overburden and ore), Processing, Ports, Maintenance (MEM and Plant/Port/Shutdowns), Logistics and Technical Services.
She has a proven track record of business improvement and cultural transformation. Linda is passionate about developing people and is a strong advocate for mentoring and training, co-ordinating many I&D programs.
Having spent 13 years living in remote mining communities, Linda is a strong advocate for improving engagement in the communities and mental health of employees.
BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal and Aurizon joined forces with Sentis to disseminate the safety ethos throughout their operations. While BMA had a relatively low lost time injury frequency rate, it grappled with several low-level incidents. This prompted a re-evaluation of the safety protocols.
Aurizon confronted challenges around safety management and leadership, evident in incidents involving its safety programs. Both BMA Hay Point and Aurizon sought a positive shift promoting safety across their domains.
