Event organisers Reed Exhibitions have named the Mackay Foundation the supported charity of QME 2010, which includes a generous donation of $5000, helping to support the Mackay community now and in the future.
Mr John Gorton, group exhibition director of Reed Exhibitions said the organisation wanted to give back to the Mackay community which has been a strong supporter of the exhibition.
“QME has been held in Mackay since 1993 and is always well supported and warmly welcomed to the region. “The Mackay Foundation is a wonderful charity to support as we can be sure that our donation will remain local and help local projects both now and in the future.
“Reed Exhibitions is proud to have the Mackay Foundation as the supported charity of QME 2010 and I encourage all exhibitors and visitors of QME to support this fantastic foundation”, Mr Gorton said.
Mackay Foundation Chairman Mr Scott Alman said that in addition to the monetary donation, Reed Exhibitions has also provided the Mackay Foundation with space to hold a fundraising raffle at QME 2010.
“The Mackay Foundation will hold a raffle with prizes worth over $11, 500, including a boat and trailer package.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Reed Exhibitions for their generous support of the Mackay Foundation,” Mr Alman said.
All money donated to the Mackay Foundation is invested in a secure capital fund. The investment income is then distributed to a wide range local community groups and projects, ensuring the Foundation can support the community both now and in the future.
