Allens to showcase mine site cleaning and asbestos-removal equipment at QME

Allens Industrial Products will feature industrial vacuum cleaners, sweepers and scrubbers for mine site uses. Such as cleaning dragline housings and asbestos removal on Stand 4022 during the 2010 Queensland Mining and Engineering (QME) exhibition at the Mackay Showground from July 27-29.

The cleaners are already used by numerous coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin and iron ore mines in Western Australia.

Headlining Allens’ QME stand will be Nilfisk-Advance large and 3-phase industrial vacuums, which are designed to clean the housings of drag lines, as well as asbestos-approved HEPA vacuums, Atex explosion-proof vacuums and automated and ride-on sweepers, scrubber/dryers and combination machines.

Negative air/negative pressure units for varied applications and collapsible and trailer-mounted decontamination units will also feature.

Established more than 20 years ago, Allens is a privately owned Brisbane-based company with 25 staff. The company saysit makes service, competitive pricing and leading brand products the focus of its operations.

The company’s QME display will also include:

 • respiratory protection equipment

• disposable, protective overalls, gloves and boot covers

 • asbestos-approved disposal bags in small and large sizes

• asbestos-approved 200 um builders’ film in back, clear, virgin and fire retardant styles

• encapsulation products such duct tape, cloth tape, double-sided tape, PVA glue and spray bond

• asbestos warning signs, barrier tapes and first aid kits • Back Pac wet-and-dry vacuums

• bonded and friable asbestos removal products.
